Will GemCoin Protestors Be Seen At Tomorrow Evening's Arcadia City Council Meeting?

The word we have received at Tattler Trans-Global World Financial Enterprises, Inc. (which, and contrary to recent rumors, is not backed by amber mines, real or imagined), is that many of the region's victims of this $160 million dollar Arcadia-based USFIA/GemCoin international ponzi operation will be staging a protest at tomorrow evening's City Council meeting there.

This would be an unprecedented event for what are usually very staid and scripted affairs at Arcadia City Hall. Such spontaneity would be quite unprecedented for meetings that usually celebrate quite uninteresting things. The sight of paint drying can often seem exciting in comparison.

Apparently the reason for this protest is the anticipated (but in no way guaranteed) presence of Arcadia City Councilman John Wuo. Many of those defrauded in the GemCoin scam claim they invested in this now discredited crypto-currency pyramid scheme because it was felt that the presence of John Wuo, a current elected official and three time former Mayor of Arcadia, lent considerable credibility to claims being put forth by USFIA and its leader, Steve "The Human Amber Mine" Chen.

Here is how Wuo's involvement was reported recently by Fox 11 News in Los Angeles (link):

Some of the local investors say that they would never have put their money into Gemcoin if it wasn’t for the intervention of an Arcadia city councilman, John Wuo. They claim Wuo stood beside Chen at investment recruitment meetings and they believed he was endorsing Gemcoin in an official capacity. The investors provided YouTube videos showing Wuo calling the currency “breakthrough and cutting edge”, along with photos showing him at various Gemcoin events over the past year.

Here is how the Los Angeles Times reported this (link):

Standing in front of a group of local Chinese TV and radio reporters earlier this year, Arcadia City Councilman John Wuo spoke about an investment opportunity called Gemcoin, a digital currency in the vein of bitcoin. He said it was a "breakthrough in finance."

"This is cutting edge," said Wuo, flanked by Gemcoin executives. "This has great potential for our economy."

At another appearance in May, Wuo took the stage at a conference in Los Angeles and lavished praise on Steve Chen, the founder of the company launching the currency, calling him "one of the quickest thinkers" he had ever known.

Despite the many videos, photographs, eyewitness and print accounts that clearly show his close involvement, John Wuo now denies having any role in the GemCoin ponzi operation.

The City of Arcadia is the location of the world headquarters of Steve Chen's international GemCoin web of fraud and deceit, with former Arcadia Mayor John Wuo its omnipresent poster boy. For many of these victims Arcadia City Hall now stands at the very heart of the beast, and being there tomorrow evening has become an imperative.

Arcadia City Council meetings kick off at around 5:30, so if you are planning to stand with the protesters to add your voice to the outrage at what has been going on there you should arrive an hour or so earlier.

Arcadia City Hall is located at 240 W. Huntington Drive.

Personally I think that anyone who has been shocked and appalled at the outrages that have occurred in Arcadia over the last year or so owes it to themselves to attend.

I plan on being on site to help support these people, and I hope to see you there as well.
