But this has got to be making the city leadership here just a little bit nervous. The penalties are substantial. In September $61,000 fines were laid on Beverly Hills, Indio, Redlands and the Coachella Valley Water District. So it is no laughing matter. Money is hard enough to come by as it is without having to pay out such a large and unplanned for expenses.
So far no local cities, including Sierra Madre, have been hit with any fines from Jerry Brown. We'll just have to wait and see if that luck holds.

So this is my question. Since City Hall has yet to cough up any numbers linked to the amounts of water being lost here due to all of those pipe leaks, are we to assume that Sierra Madre's 3rd consecutive month of inadequate water conservation actually is due to collapsing water infrastructure? Is there any compelling evidence that it is not?
It would be easier to tell if this information was actually being shared.
