However, today I did and now I am both annoyed and dismayed. Didn't President Biden inform us just yesterday about the importance of truth for the health of our society? Maybe the "Views Fake News" is part of that Patriot Party movement we've been chatting about today? Or has taken on a QAnon approach to reality? That is, if it hadn't already preceded it.
The front page (no less) article in question discusses the need for new housing in Sierra Madre. This being purportedly driven by the current population trends in the Golden State which, according to the feckless knucklehead that wrote this offensive article, are "booming."
Well, there you go. My peaceful afternoon in tatters. Lies are bad, but put them in print and the consequences multiply. Or at least that is the effect it has here at The Tattler.
As anyone even modestly informed about the state we're living in can tell you, population growth rates in California are not booming. They are, at best, stagnant. Here is an article posted by KTLA a month ago that gives you a far more accurate picture of what is going down around here in the Golden West.
California’s population growth rate at record low as more people leave(KTLAlink): More people are leaving California than moving here, continuing a trend that coupled with fewer births has slowed the growth rate in the nation’s most populous state to a record low amid a pandemic that is reshaping its future.
Officially, California added 21,200 people from July 1, 2019, to July 1, 2020, increasing the state’s population a paltry 0.05% to 39.78 million people — still by far the most of any state.
But the bigger news from Wednesday’s new population estimate was that 135,600 more people left the state than moved here. It’s only the 12th time since 1900 the state has had a net migration loss, and the third largest ever recorded.

So why did the MV Fake News publish such obvious disinformation? Well, I kind of think you know. We used to talk about it all the time.
