Lincoln Project releases devastating new ad against Republican Lindsey Graham (Raw Storylink): The chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee had his own words used against him in a hard-hitting new ad from the Lincoln Project.

“If a Supreme Court opening comes in the last year of President Trump’s term, and the primary process has started, we’ll wait till the next election,” Graham promised The Atlantic‘s Jeffrey Goldberg in October of 2018.

It wasn’t the only time Graham had made such a claim, as was pointed out by Vanita Gupta, the president and CEO of The Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights.

As Trump is pushing the Senate to confirm whomever he nominates, Graham’s statements have taken on added meaning. Graham also has political considerations, the confirmation could keep him from campaigning in South Carolina, where he is facing a tough challenge from Jaime Harrison.

Majority of voters say Trump should not nominate a Supreme Court Justice (MSNlink): The poll came less than a day after the U.S. Supreme Court announced liberal Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died Friday evening of complications from pancreatic cancer.

The poll found that 51 percent of voters believe Trump should not nominate another justice this year, while 42 percent said he should move forward with a nominee. A slight majority, 48 percent, believe the Senate should not confirm a nominee this year. Forty-five percent said the upper chamber should.

Forty-nine percent of respondents said they believe Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden would "do a better job" picking a Supreme Court nominee, while 40 percent said Trump would. Eleven percent of respondents were undecided.
