Mod: Yesterday some peanut left a piece of nasty disinformation in the comments claiming that Christianity Today Editor in Chief Mark Galli had resigned. This because he had published an editorial declaring the Mango Madman morally unfit to continue as president. Apparently this was fake news as there is no story on-line corroborating this. Instead Christianity Today magazine has increased its subscription base, proving all over again that even in an era of immoral presidential lying truth remains a best business practice.

Christianity Today receives boost in new subscriptions after calling for Trump’s removal, editor in chief says (CNBClink): The Christian magazine that published a blistering editorial calling for President Donald Trump’s removal from office over his “blackened moral record” has received a boost in subscribers despite a public backlash among leading evangelicals, according to the publication’s editor in chief.

Mark Galli, the editor in chief of Christianity Today who authored the op-ed, acknowledged to MSNBC on Sunday that the magazine has lost subscribers, but he said there has also been an outpouring of support.

“A stereotypical response is ‘thank you, thank you, thank you’ with a string of a hundred exclamation points — ‘you’ve said what I’ve been thinking but haven’t been able to articulate, I’m not crazy,‘” Galli said of the response from supporters. “We have lost subscribers but we’ve had 3 times as many people start to subscribe.“

In the editorial published Thursday, Galli argued that Trump’s effort to use his power as president to coerce a foreign leader to investigate Democratic presidential candidate and former Vice President Joe Biden“is not only a violation of the Constitution; more importantly, it is profoundly immoral.“

Galli called on evangelicals who continue to support Trump“despite his blackened moral record” to “remember who you are and whom you serve. Consider how your justification of Mr. Trump influences your witness to your Lord and Savior.“

Mod: The mind of the dim bulb in chief remains windmilling in darkness.

Trump Blames Obama For Lightbulb Law That Bush Signed (Politicus USA link): The full White House has joined Trump’s lightbulb jihad, and they’re blaming Obama for a law that Bush signed in 2007.

Republicans are complaining about the Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007. The title of the bill gives away the problem. Obama wasn’t president in 2007, so he could not have signed the legislation into law. The lightbulbs that have so enraged Trump became law under Republican president George W. Bush.

The Obama lightbulb conspiracy has been floating around in conservative and right-wing media for years. What began as Obama’s lightbulb socialism has morphed into Trump and the Executive Branch of the United States government declaring war on lightbulbs. Trump has been ranting about lightbulbs for months. In October, he said, “Of course, who cares about looks? But you do look better with incandescent, but they weren’t allowed, and you have the privilege of buying now a much more expensive bulb, under the passed rules, much more expensive bulb that doesn’t have a good looking light, but maybe very importantly when the bulb is out, and not good, it’s literally considered a hazardous waste site because of all the gasses. If it breaks, you’re supposed to bring it to a certain location, and I say who does that? Nobody. Nobody.”

Right-wing conspiracies and false information are the basis for policymaking under Trump. Bush’s lightbulbs are what Trump is obsessed with, and the president wouldn’t look so orange if he wasn’t slathering bronzing makeup on his face all day.
