Mod: Alex Jones of InfoWar fame has run into some legal difficulties as of late. All of which is a far cry from not so long ago when he was considered an important source of topical information for the current president.

Infowars' Alex Jones sent Sandy Hook victims files with child sex abuse images, say lawyers (The Guardianlink): Lawyers for relatives of some victims of the Sandy Hook Elementary school shooting allege that far-right conspiracy theorist Alex Jones sent them documents relating to the court battle they are fighting that included electronic files containing images of child sexual abuse, as the latest twist in the defamation case against the Infowars website host.

Jones denied the allegations during his web show last Friday and accused one of the lawyers involved of framing him.

Lawyers say the imagery was among documents they had requested from Jones as part of the discovery process of the lawsuit. The families of eight victims of the 2012 shooting in Newtown, Connecticut, and an FBI agent who responded to the massacre, are suing Jones, Infowars and others for promoting a theory that the shooting was a hoax. Jones, of Austin, Texas, has since said he believes the shooting occurred. A court hearing on the documents is scheduled for Tuesday.

Jones, who lives in Travis County, Texas, has used his media platform to call the mass shooting at an elementary school that killed 26 people a hoax and suggested a political cover up took place by leftwing forces seeking to take advantage of the shooting to support their causes, such as gun control.

In 2013, he called the massacre “staged” and continued to stoke his conspiracy theory for years.

Infowars host Alex Jones accused of threatening Sandy Hook lawyers after child porn is found in his electronic files, court document says (CNBC link): Electronic material that Infowars host Alex Jones turned over to the families of Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting victims who are suing him contained images of child pornography, according to a court filing Monday.

The filing also accuses Jones of threatening Christopher Mattei, a lawyer for the families, and his law firm, during an online broadcast of “The Alex Jones Show” on Friday in which he angrily claimed that unnamed people were “trying to set me up with child porn.”

“I’ll get your ass,” Jones said, before offering a $1 million bounty for information that led to the apprehension and conviction of whoever sent him emails containing child porn.

Alex Jones Faces Court Action After Threatening Sandy Hook Lawyer (Daily Beastlink): A Connecticut judge could impose penalties on InfoWars conspiracy theorist Alex Jones on Tuesday, after Jones aired a show where he punched a picture of an attorney representing Sandy Hook families and called the lawyer a “pimp.” 

In a motion filed Monday in Connecticut, attorneys for the Sandy Hook families asked the court to review Friday’s episode of InfoWars. In that show, Jones raged at attorney Chris Mattei, who’s representing Sandy Hook families suing Jones for saying the 2012 elementary school massacre never happened. 

While sitting next to his own attorney, Norm Pattis, Jones accused Mattei without evidence of planting child porn on InfoWars’s servers. 

“Total war!” Jones said. “You want it, you got it! I’m not into kids like your Democratic Party! So get ready!”
