Sierra Madre Library to host food, wine fundraiser (Pasadena Star Newslink): The Friends of the Sierra Madre Library will host its 48th annual Wine and Cuisine Tasting Benefit 7 to 9:30 p.m. Feb. 16 at the Alverno Heights Academy’s historic Villa del Sol d’Oro, 200 N. Michilinda Ave.
The event will feature more than two dozen vintners and local restaurants offering creative foods and desserts. Tickets are $80 and allow early admission at 6 p.m. Main event tickets are $60 and provide admission at 7 p.m.

Mod: So since this is a "Friends of the Library" event, and they support selling off the desirable property the current Library stands upon in order to fund the building of something rather different over by the YAC, this could put some people in kind of a funny place. What if you are a friend of the old Library? By attending this event won't you be helping fund its demise? That might not be what a true friend would care to do.
