For many local residents former Mayor Bart Doyle's anticipated departure will be some extremely interesting news. Not since Joe Mosca fled the United States in such a hot hurry has so controversial a figure headed out the Foothill Village door and off for places far far away. Or at least more than a few here are now fervently hoping.
The father of the Downtown Specific Plan, El Monte's "Billion Dollar Bus Station," the ongoing One Carter debacle, along with $15 million dollars in interest only onerous water bond debt, may soon be leaving the Foothill Village good life behind.

So where might Bart be heading? The downtown rumor mill has it he will soon be joining with Mrs. Doyle, his international business executive wife, and live in a mysterious Middle Eastern Kingdom. Which is just about as far away from Sierra Madre as you can possibly get these days, and in so very many ways.
Another rumor making the rounds states that the Doyles will be residing in New England somewhere. But wintering in more pleasant climes during the chilly season.
It will be interesting to see how all of this pans out. As a remembrance, the Sierra Madre Tattler would enjoy presenting Bart with the following practical gift. No emigre'House Pasha will want to be seen without one of these planted on his head.
