Mod: The following revelations come to us from the rather heavily reader restricted "Sierra Madre"Facebook page, which is operated and patrolled by certain pols from a shady yet not distant enough past. Perhaps you received some of their numerous postcards during last April's utility tax fib-a-thon?

That seems to me like decent enough usage for a site that has been boarded up and not looking especially pretty these last couple of years. I used to enjoy shopping at Albertsons myself, and am still afflicted with a sense of loss at its closing. It appears that I am not the only one.
However, apparently the thought of that location being filled with the sounds of happy children having fun on SkyZone's trampolines has put the undergarments of some Hasting Ranchers of the "you kids stay off my lawn" persuasion into a decided knot. Here is their dyspeptic form letter of entitled complaint.
Considering the utter lack of support Albertsons received when they were in that building I seriously doubt any "neighborhood market" will ever again be interested in setting up there. Even at gunpoint. It is near miraculous that any business would ever want to go in there at all. Rather than getting all grumpy about it these folks should be glad that this eyesore is finally getting a viable tenant.
Of course, the place would be mainly of interest to that most egregiously underserved segment of this area's communities, kids and teenagers. Or, as the self-involved individuals from the Stay Off My Lawn set tellingly refer to them, "negative element."
My guess is that this will happen, and these folks would best start looking now for safe places to hide their garden gnomes.
