If you are voting write-in today, and obviously you really should do that, above is the screenshot of a tip that you will not want to ignore. In addition, a comment posted here yesterday also lays the issues involved out.
That "color in the oval" thing is important. Don't forget to do that, OK? Otherwise your write-in vote for Barry Gold will not be counted. And please, do not vote for either of the other two candidates. One is just as bad as the other.
Mayor Capoccia gets called out
Yesterday, on the usually preternaturally calm Sierra Madre News.net site, an actual conversation took place. I know, but it did happen. The occasion was a reposting of Mr. Capoccia's endlessly wordy "editorial" from the Mountain Views News.
As you may know, that was the one where Capoccia incomprehensibly conflated Monrovia's property tax rate with Sierra Madre's utility tax hit. Done while strangely omitting the fact that Monrovia actually has no utility taxes, an advantage that city uses to attract new business. Something that Sierra Madre has long seemed incapable of figuring out.
Anyhow, this is what went down on the News.net site yesterday (link).
Good stuff. Hopefully the incredible amounts of money spent in the effort to cram this dishonest tax hike down the throats of the voters of Sierra Madre will not pan out for the greedy special interests pushing for it.
We will know the results in a few short hours.
