The Sierra Madre Tattler Would Like To Thank The "Yes On Measure UUT" Campaign & Its Pasadena Campaign Manager For Helping Set Our New Blog Traffic Record

Sometime around the second week of March the "Yes On Measure UUT" campaign, inspired no doubt by the towering genius of its proud Pasadena resident campaign manager, decided to spend a few thousand dollars in other peoples' money on a mailer attacking the Sierra Madre Tattler (link). Done in the form of a glossy and quite colorful 4-page flyer, it was concocted in hopes of taking this blog out of the news picture in Sierra Madre's upcoming election. Thereby making their own website a focus of resident attention, even though much of what they post there isn't really all that accurate. Here is a pertinent portion of this very expensive flyer:

If you have contributed money to the "Yes On Measure UUT" campaign in the past, we would like to assure you that we had absolutely nothing at all to do with this.

Much of the thrust of this strange and quite costly assault on The Tattler was an attempt to falsely connect this blog with a certain political organization that, just like the quirky campaign manager of the "Yes On Measure UUT" campaign, comes from Pasadena. You really do have to wonder what it is about that city that inspires the sorts of eccentric things it does. Maybe it is the large amount of trendy establishments there that serve loudly colored alcoholic beverages (link).

I mean, how else could you conclude that The Tattler is somehow a threat to the prices of houses in Sierra Madre? It takes a large amount of cosmopolitans (link) to come to a conclusion like that I'll bet.

However, and as is often the case with such efforts, the effect was exactly the opposite of what was obviously intended. And rather than panicked droves of Sierra Madre homeowners fleeing from this site in a full blooded real estate terror, The Tattler actually had the best monthly traffic number ever in the history of this blog. Here is that stat, which I am quite proud to reproduce for you here today.

The total hit count for the Sierra Madre Tattler in March 2016, according to Blogger (the Google owned platform where this blog happily resides) was 87,939. Not bad for a town of 11,000 or so souls. It is a radical increase from the 74,000 or so hits we saw here in February. In January that number was an even lower 64,000. Obviously all of that pricey publicity has not hurt.

I'm telling you, I am going to miss all those nutty guys once this election is over.

Save The Pyramid House!
This article comes to us from LA Curbed (link). Titled "Wildly Impractical Sierra Madre Pyramid House Asking $990k," it details the possible demise of Sierra Madre's very own pyramid house. A legendary structure that now faces the wrecking ball in order to make way for some sort of big fat McMansion.

Here are the details.
